  3. A couple of pairs of pants: I usually pack one pair of jeans, and either leggings or sweatpants. The reason I bring jeans is that they can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Meanwhile, leggings and sweatpants are comfortable for days when we’ll be doing a lot of walking sightseeing, or just hanging out in the hotel room.
  4. A couple of tops: I tend to pack a mixture of tank tops, t-shirts, and sweaters when I travel. That allows me to be prepared for whatever the weather might bring, and also have different clothing options depending on what activities I’ll be doing.
  5. A light jacket or sweatshirt: Again, depending on the weather at your destination. But it’s always better to err on the side of caution and have something to throw on if it gets chilly.
  6. A pair of comfortable shoes: I cannot stress this enough. You will be doing a lot of walking, so you need a pair of shoes that won’t give you blisters. But make sure they’re also cute enough to wear out to dinner!
  7. A beach bag or daypack: If you plan on doing any day trips while you’re away, it’s helpful to have a small backpack to throw your essentials in.
  8. An evening bag: For all the fancy dinners and nights out!
  9. A scarf: This is my personal favorite travel accessory. A scarf can be used as a blanket on the plane, a headscarf at the beach, or a fashionable wrap for a night out.
  10. A travel pillow and blanket: These should always be in your carry-on, regardless of the season. You never know when you’ll get chilly or want to steal a quick nap!
